Vinland Saga is a manga series written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura. It is published in North America by Kodansha.

Vinland Saga started publication in 2003 and has continued to be serialized in Weekly Morning since then. The manga has been adapted into an anime television series, which premiered on July 7, 2018.


How was Vinland Saga created?


V.S is a manga written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura. It tells the story of Thorfinn, a Norse boy who is captured by the invading Danish king. He then becomes a slave in the king's forces and has to find his way back to his homeland. The manga was published in North America by Vertical Inc., starting in 2011, and in France by Soleil Manga, starting in 2014.

Makoto Yukimura has been drawing manga since high school and has completed over 10 different series so far.

The history of Vinland Saga goes back to 2006 when Makoto Yukimura made an illustration for a magazine article about Leif Erikson about how he hopes that one-day people will live peacefully with each other.


Synopsis:


The storyline follows the life of Thorfinn Thorsson, a boy possessed of unimaginable strength and ambition in pursuit of revenge. Thorfinn's father was murdered by the Viking king Harald Fairhair for his desertion with his wife and daughter - for this reason, he has sworn to kill Askeladd, his father's killer.


Review:


Vinland Saga is an amazing show with incredible animation and sound design. The story moves at a breakneck pace and it's never boring or predictable. The creators have done a fantastic job adapting one of the best manga series in recent years into an anime that can be enjoyed on both screens - so if you are looking for something great, you will find it in this anime.

There’s no telling if or when there will be a new season of Vinland Saga. There are only rumors because the manga is still ongoing.
